Travelling by car

We advise against travelling by car, as parking spaces are very limited in Basel and the region.

For those arriving by car, there are Park & Ride car parks (P+R) in the vicinity of the city of Basel. Paid parking spaces are also available in the multi-storey car parks in the city of Basel. The car park guidance system and signs on the access roads guide visitors to the available car parks. From there, visitors can continue their journey to the city centre by tram and bus. There will be no parking spaces available at St. Jakobshalle and St. Jakob-Park.

Travelling by plane

The binational EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is only seven kilometres from the city centre and offers direct flights from most European cities. From the airport, bus number 50 takes around 20 minutes to the city centre. The bus stop is located directly at the exit of the arrivals hall (level 2). The bus runs several times an hour until 00:30 a.m.. The bus ticket can be purchased online or at the TNW ticket machine at the bus stop (single ticket, 3 zones). It is not possible to buy tickets in the vehicle.

There are direct trains from Zurich Airport to Basel SBB.

Travelling by coaches

There are parking spaces available for coaches in the Basel area, but a fee is charged. Further information will follow.
