Eurovision Boulevard

The Eurovision Boulevard, stretching from Basel SBB railway station to Badischer Bahnhof – including areas of the “Riviera” along the banks of the Rhine in Kleinbasel – is the connecting element between the Eurovision venues. Decorative elements, eye-catchers, and activities create an Eurovision atmosphere and allow guests from Europe to see and experience Basel’s savoir-vivre.

Eurovision Street

During the Eurovision, Steinenvorstadt becomes Eurovision Street: with street music and eye-catching decorations, this nightlife district is the perfect setting for the Eurovision.

Street music stages

Basel offers many great settings for street music stages. Street musicians will be performing at the following ten locations, with a total of over 300 performances to sweeten your stay in the city.

De Wette

In the cozy little park near Centralbahnplatz, there is a small stage in a pavilion under the trees.

Elisabethen

Right in front of the Elisabethenkirche and the Theater Basel are four small glass pyramids resembling the Louvre. Between the pyramids is a seating area with food and drink options and a street art stage.

Steinenvorstadt

In the middle of Eurovision Street, the music from the street art stage can be heard best from the bars and restaurants, which have plenty of outdoor seating.

Freie Strasse

The Freie Strasse is Basel’s main shopping street with many first-class stores. Here you can combine a musical experience with a shopping tour.

Rümelinsplatz

With its colourfully painted floor, Rümelinsplatz stands out in the narrow alleys of Basel’s old town. If you’re a keen walker, set off from here on a journey of discovery up Spalenberg to Spalentor or walk downhill directly to the market square.

Marktplatz

Every day, there is a lively atmosphere in front of the historic and strikingly painted town hall. This is partly thanks to the town market, where regional products from the tri-border area are sold.

Schifflände

Shortly before Mittlere Brücke, before crossing the Rhine from Grossbasel to Kleinbasel, you can hear street music again.

Kaserne

Today, the barracks are a cultural venue with bars and event spaces. On the square in front of the barracks, facing the Rhine, there is a street music stage, and next to it, people often play boules and table tennis on the gravel area under the trees.

Rheinweg

The banks of the Rhine in Kleinbasel are a popular place for walking. Here you can enjoy the evening sun on the steps along the promenade.

Claraplatz

On the way to the Basel Exhibition Center, Claraplatz offers a welcome break with street music.

Food stands on the boulevard

Food stands in public spaces are a common sight in Basel. Delicious meals are not only available at city and neighborhood markets; the city also has its own unique buvettes: small open-air restaurants that become popular meeting places in the summer.
During Eurovision week from May 10 to 17, nine additional food stands will open on Eurovision Boulevard.

L’Atelier

Right on the Rhine, L’Atelier serves classic and veggie smashed cheeseburgers with salad or fries, various poké bowls, and a selection of summer drinks every day.
Location: Rhine, Waisenhaus

The Pyramides

A wide range of culinary delights and fine drinks ensure culinary enjoyment. Street performers and a variety of live bands enliven Pyramidenplatz with music and atmosphere. A cosy meeting place right next to Elisabethenkirche.

Uncle Tom’s

Visit Uncle Tom’s Bar right on the banks of the Rhine in Kleinbasel below Reverenzgässlein and enjoy a refreshing drink. If you’re feeling peckish, they offer delicious raclette slices with the finest Swiss cheese.

Eiche

Eiche, a traditional Basel family business, treats visitors to grilled sausages and freshly tapped beer or a cool non-alcoholic drink. Gustav Eiche himself once said, “It’s not what goes into the sausage that matters,” and it was under this motto that he founded his butcher’s shop in Basel in 1904. The modern business, with its own salting and sausage-making facilities, processes top-quality Swiss meat according to its own recipes to produce the city’s famous, award-winning meat products and sausage specialities.

A touch of Buenos Aires in the middle of the Eurovision hustle and bustle—¡buen provecho!
