Eurovision Square is located in the middle of Basel’s old town on Barfüsserplatz. Eurovision Street begins just a few metres away on Steinenvorstadt.
Michael von der Heide is a dazzling star of the Swiss show and concert scene. His mission? “To take away the heaviness from people.” As a diseur, charmer and chansonnier, he and his brilliant band have been enchanting audiences with their unique style for three decades. His repertoire – from “Hinderem Berg” to the shiny gold “Il Pleut de l’Or”, with which he took to the Eurovision stage in 2010 – is just as multifaceted as his performances: charming, pointed and full of wit.
Vintage soul, retropop, Motown, Stax and a pinch of Woodstock, lovingly incorporated into their own Bandsound, that’s Nicole Bernegger and her band. While the Basel-based septet is currently still touring clubs and festivals with “BACK TO YOU”, they are already working on their new album, which will be released in fall 2025.
After winning the “Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson” in Brighton in 1974, the cult band ABBA became one of the most successful music groups of all time. With a grandiose show and super hits such as “Waterloo”, “Thank you for the music”, “Dancing Queen” and “Chiquitita”, “ABBA GOLD – The Concert Show” brings the glittering world of ABBA back to life in Eurovision Village 2025. Original costumes, a Swedish accent, video and retro light show make the revival and concert experience perfect.

The Basel swing, show and dance band “Pat’s Big Band” – since 2005 with singer Patricia Kunz – interprets arrangements by Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and other jazz greats in the original version as they were played by the big bands of the swing era (30s – 50s). The repertoire includes unforgettable titles, including current swing arrangements by Robbie Williams, Michael Bublé and Tom Gaebel.
QZB are revolutionizing drum’n’bass – precise, focused and with infectious dynamics. They have been perfecting their sound since 2012, which has led to sold-out club nights, festival appearances across Europe and releases on Critical Music. Their music combines sharp percussion with influences from hip-hop, Italo disco and jazz. Future Forever brings them full circle: after three years of intensive work, they have created a 44-minute album full of high-tech funk that combines the past, present and future. With features from Charli Brix, T-Man, Marea and MCXL.

Brainchild is fully dedicated to the joy of pop music. The band around Basel musician and singer Antonin Queloz presented an astonishingly mature debut album in 2021 with “Heartbreak Horizon”, which promptly made them SRF3 Best Talent: equipped with a voice that brings John Mayer or Jamie Cullum to mind, flanked by a band of respected exponents of the Basel music scene and carried by a great deal of lightness. The single “In The Darkness” is anthemic: Big, but close. Nostalgic, but optimistic. Catchy, but varied. Pop with depth – that’s Brainchild.

When it comes to rap from Basel, you can hardly avoid WAS DAS? From political themes to trendy autotune hooks, they cover a broad musical palette and their hit “Kleistadtverklemmt” is on constant rotation throughout German-speaking Switzerland. With three albums released, an m4music award and countless concerts played, the 7-piece band is no longer an insider tip. In Basel, they are still known for their sold-out shows and boiling crowds, so they are definitely a must-see!
